Clothesline Project T-Shirt Making

Decorate a shirt to add to our Clothesline Project Display

Location

The Commons : The Women's Center

Date

October 11, 2021Oct 25, 2021 (All Day Event)

Description

Students, faculty, and staff have made t-shirts describing their experience with relationship violence and sexual assault. Later this month, these t-shirts will be hung shoulder-to-shoulder on a clothesline for public viewing, as if the survivors are there themselves, telling us their stories.

The Clothesline Project gives voice to the experiences of survivors, victims, family, and friends who have been affected by violence. The Women's Center will be providing materials for those who identify as survivors or victims of violence to decorate t-shirts to add to our clothesline project display during the month of October which is Domestic Violence (Relationship Violence) Awareness Month.

UMBC community members impacted by sexual violence are encouraged to make a t-shirt for the display prior to our display (date TBA)  so it can be included in the display. Community members wishing to make a shirt can let someone at the front desk know they are interested in making a shirt and a staff member will be able to assist you.

More details about this October's display in recognition of Relationship Violence Awareness Month will be forthcoming.
