Spectrum: Letters to Ourselves
A biweekly discussion group for trans + non-binary people
Location

Date & Time
May 1, 2024, 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Description
Join the Spectrum discussion group in the Women’s Center lounge for our penultimate meeting of the Spring semester! You do not need to have attended a previous session to join.
Discussion will center around our activity: writing letters to ourselves (past, present, or future). This is intended as a reflective, self-care activity, but encourages vulnerability and may be uncomfortable for some. Discussion topics may include "coming out," presentation, visibility, safety, self-care, identity, etc.
This event is facilitated by Ash Acuña.

The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity and those who are allies, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This discussion-based program follows the Women’s Center Brave Space model to provide a welcoming environment and thoughtful community to engage in conversations focused on the experiences of the transgender community.
Spring 2024: We meet every other week on Wednesdays at 4pm in the Women's Center Lounge!
