Description

Join the Spectrum discussion group in the Women’s Center lounge for a brief discussion on Transgender Day of Remembrance and the rippling effects of transphobia. This is part of a series of events from the Women's Center in honor of Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR).

This event is facilitated by Ash Acuña and Katlynn Seghetti.

The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity and those who are allies, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This discussion-based program follows the Women’s Center Brave Space model to provide a welcoming environment and thoughtful community to engage in conversations focused on the experiences of the transgender community.

Fall 2024: We meet every other week on Tuesdays at 1pm in the Women's Center Lounge!

If you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the group, email us at womenscenter@umbc.edu.

This group centers trans, non-binary, and gender-questioning experiences; we request that students do not use this space for class research or interviews.

Please note: UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors. If you have difficulties accessing any of the materials on our site or any of our events or discussions, please contact us so that we can provide an alternative format and/or remedy any accessibility challenges.
