The Clothesline Project Display
A Sexual Assault Awareness Month Event
Location
The Commons : Mainstreet
Date & Time
April 8, 2025, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Description
Students, faculty, and staff have made t-shirts describing their experience with sexual assault and power-based violence. In recognition of UMBC's Sexual Assault Awareness Month, on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025 these t-shirts will be hung shoulder-to-shoulder on a clothesline for public viewing, as if the survivors are there themselves, telling us their stories.
The Clothesline Project gives voice to the experiences of survivors, victims, family, and friends who have been affected by violence. All are encouraged to attend and participate.
UMBC community members impacted by interpersonal violence are encouraged to make a t-shirt for the display prior to April 8th so it can be included in the display. Supplies will be available throughout all of April in the Women's Center and shirts made on or after April 8th will be included in future displays including Take Back the Night 2025.
**This event is open for full participation by all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or any other protected category under applicable federal law, state law, and the University's nondiscrimination policy.**
