Description
Join the Spectrum discussion group in the Women's, Gender, & Equity Center lounge for our third meeting of the semester. Anyone may attend regardless of whether they have attended prior meetings.
At our third meeting we will have an early celebration of National Coming Out Day with cookies and space to share experiences and have discussion around what "coming out" means to you. Please join us to share personal perspectives, and have open group discussion about representation or any other topics of interest!
This event is facilitated by Chloe Kastner
The Spectrum Discussion Group makes space for UMBC community members who identify as trans, genderqueer, gender fluid, outside of the gender binary, and/or those who are questioning their gender identity and those who are allies, regardless of their sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. This discussion-based program follows the Women's, Gender, and Equity Center Brave Space model to provide a welcoming environment and thoughtful community to engage in conversations focused on the experiences of the transgender community.
Fall 2025: We meet every other week on Wednesdays at 2pm in the Women's, Gender, and Equity Center Lounge!
If you have any questions, concerns, or want to know more about the group, email us at womenscenter@umbc.edu.
This group centers trans, non-binary, and gender-questioning experiences; we request that students do not use this space for class research or interviews.
Please note: UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors. If you have difficulties accessing any of the materials on our site or any of our events or discussions, please contact us so that we can provide an alternative format and/or remedy any accessibility challenges.
