Description
The Monument Quilt is crowd-sourced collection of stories from survivors of rape and abuse. Each individual square is made of red fabric with hand-written testimonials created by survivors and allies. By stitching our stories together, we are creating and demanding public space to heal. The Monument Quilt is a platform to work together to change how communities respond to rape.
The quilt is creating a new culture where survivors are publicly supported, rather than publicly shamed. Groups across the country are invited to participate in this national project, which will eventually blanket the National Mall with the phrase Not Alone.
This is great opportunity for survivors and allies alike to keep the momentum going for healing and change post Take Back the Night!
All materials will be provided.
