UMBC Greek Cares:

What can you do to support friends and other Greeks who have experienced sexual violence? What do you say? What do you not say? Most importantly, how can you build trust and help empower survivors?

Considering the scope of the problem of sexual assault and interpersonal violence on college campuses, this workshop will provide a space for UMBC’s Greek community to learn how they are uniquely situated to make a difference in cultivating a survivor-responsive campus. The majority of the workshop will focus on recognizing challenges to healing for survivors and identifying best practices for responding sensitively and effectively to friends or acquaintances who are experiencing an immediate crisis or ongoing trauma.

Presenters have blocked an additional 30 minutes afterwards to be available for further questions and support.

Presenters: Jess Myers and Megan Tagle Adams, Women’s Center staff
