Description
In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Women's Center and We Believe You are proud to present a choreographed piece by Alexia Petasis (INDS) that reflects on the personal impact of sexual violence. Sarah Brewer and Miguel Ledesma will dance.
Following the recital, we will hear from representatives of UMBC's Title IX Office, the Women's Center, the We Believe You student group, as well as sexual assault and domestic violence center'sTurnAround (Baltimore County) and HopeWorks (Howard County). Panelists will respond to the dance, talk about their organizations' roles in advocating for an end to sexual violence, and take any questions from the audience.

Doors open at 5:30 pm.

Alexia is an Interdisciplinary Studies major and Psychology minor who will graduate in spring, 2019. She has been selected as an Undergraduate Research Award (URA) Scholar for 2018-19, and is a member of the Honors College. Her research project is Confronting Social Issues through Translational Choreography.
