The Clothesline Project
In Honor of Relationship Violence Assault Awareness Month
Location
On Campus : Commons Mainstreet
Date & Time
October 28, 2019, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Description
Students, faculty, and staff have made t-shirts describing their experience with relationship violence and sexual assault. On Monday, October 28th these t-shirts will be hung shoulder-to-shoulder on a clothesline for public viewing, as if the survivors are there themselves, telling us their stories.
The Clothesline Project gives voice to the experiences of survivors, victims, family, and friends who have been affected by violence. All are encouraged to attend and participate.
UMBC community members interested in volunteering for this event are encouraged to email the Women's Center at womenscenter@umbc.edu. Setting up the project takes lots of hands so volunteers are greatly appreciated!
UMBC community members impacted by sexual violence are encouraged to make a t-shirt for the display prior to October 28th.
Supplies will be available in the Women's Center throughout the month of October during our hours of operation.
