Description
Join the Women's Center for a celebratory kick-off of Women's History Month! As we celebrate the centennial of the 19th Amendment (which gave (white) women the right to vote), we are thinking about how far we've come, and how much farther we need to go.
All students, faculty, staff, and UMBC community members are welcome to join us and share in both a meal and good company of fellow feminists and gender equity advocates.
We are excited to be joined by our special guest speaker: Dr. Maria Celleri of the Gender, Women's, + Sexuality Studies Department, who will begin our event with personal stories, lessons from the field, and a call to action in pushing for intersectional gender justice.
In addition to Dr. Celleri's talk, there will be plenty of chances for folks to meet one another in networking games, as well as some good, old-fashioned quiz show style competition. And yes, there will be prizes.
We hope to see you there!
FYI: In order to set-up for this event, the Women's Center will be closing at 5pm.
Please note: UMBC is committed to creating an accessible and inclusive environment for all students, staff, faculty, and visitors. If you have difficulties accessing any of the materials on our site or any of our events or discussions, please contact us so that we can provide an alternative format and/or remedy any accessibility challenges. The Women's Center can be reached via phone at 410-455-2714 or by email at womenscenter@umbc.edu.
