The Faculty & Staff Care Series is a space for and led by UMBC faculty & staff. This month’s virtual meet-up is an informal space to vent & exchange ideas with one another. Our topic for this month is Normalizing Community Care in Higher Ed which will be held on 

Wednesday, Dec. 9th from 12-1pm. 


Normalizing a culture of individualism and worthiness based on how much a person can produce is not only unsustainable… it's harmful… inequitable.. It’s unjust. 


Community Care is a model of collective process, support, and accountability. Breaking through institutional structures that maintain white supremacy & capitalism is not an easy feat, but it is a necessary one. 


Note, while not required, participants may be asked to read a short 5 min article(s) prior to the discussion which will serve as the foundation to our discussion. This information can be found below.
