Drag, Resistance and Activism
Join the Women's Center & i3b for a Pride Month Event!
Location
Online
Date & Time
June 29, 2021, 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Description
Join us for a discussion, documentary showing and performances reflecting the intersection of Latinx & LGBTQ+ identity, drag, and activism! We will be joined by the FIERCE duo of Raquel Ita and Barbie Q, whose mission as drag artists are to make the world a better place through telling stories, inspiring/empowering youth and giving representation to the Latinx and LGBTQ+ community. They most recently were featured in a short documentary, Las Reina De Los Cuentos (13 mins), which shares their activism in bringing a Drag Storytime event for children to their local library. We can’t wait to welcome them virtually and to close Pride Month off together!
Co-sponsored by: The Women’s Center and Initiatives for Identity, Inclusion, and Belonging (i3b)
