Returning Adult Learners Scholarship Application is Open!
Scholarship Applications due 5/30/2025!!
Returning Adult Learners are eligible for four scholarships, applications are due at the end of May (5/30/2025)!
Available Scholarships
- Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarship: This is the signature scholarship for the Women's, Gender, & Equity Center's Returning Adult Learners Scholarship Program. Each year, 12-15 Newcombe scholars are selected. Award amount varies between $500 - $4,000 based on individual need and merit for the academic year.
- AEGON Scholarship: Each year, two to four students are selected. Recipients must have financial dependents. Award amount varies between $1,000 - $3,000.
- The Richard and Roslyn Bryson Neville Memorial Fund: Each year, one to three students are awarded. Recipients must be U.S citizens. Award amount varies between $1,000 - $1,500.
- Rosalie Tydings Scholarship: Each year, one student is awarded. Award amount is approximately $800.
Application Requirements:
- Must be a UMBC student pursuing first bachelor's degree
- Must be age 25 and older Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher
- Must be enrolled or planning to enroll part-time or full-time Fall 2025
- Must complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Requirements if you receive the scholarship:
- Submission of post-acceptance forms
- Attendance for an orientation
- Attendance at once-per-month workshops
- One-on-one meeting with a Women's, Gender, & Equity Center Staff Meeting
