What's Your Green Dot? Learn more through Green Dot Overview Training

Green Dot is built on the premise that in order to measurably reduce the perpetration of power-based personal violence, including sexual violence, partner violence, or stalking, a cultural shift is necessary.  In order to create a cultural shift, a critical mass of people will need to engage in a new behavior or set of behaviors that will make violence less sustainable within any given community.  The “new behavior” is a green dot. This extremely interactive session is great for you to:
  • Understand the impact of power-based personal violence on campus and in various communities
  • Learn how to identify power-based personal violence and respond within the bounds of your strengths and limitations
  • Practice newly developed skills to be prepared for enacting this in your daily life
Contact Davonya Hall at davonya@umbc.edu with questions or to set up additional training opportunities.

If you or someone you know is experiencing relationship violence or power-based violence and would like to seek support, there are many campus resources available to you.
  • For confidential reporting: UMBC’s Counseling Center, 410-455-2472
  • For quasi-confidential reporting: The Women’s Center, 410-455-2714
  • UMBC’s Title IX Coordinator, 410-455-1606
